The Chicago Mix Tour is the best of all possible worlds – a little bit country, a little bit rock ‘n roll. We’ll see Chicago from the inside for an hour, then we’ll head outside for an hour. It’s everything you asked for, it’s having cake and eating it, it’s like Christmas and your birthday all rolled into one.
On the all-indoor, Chicago Pedway portion, we’ll cross under and over hotels, office buildings, we’ll read maps and figure out signage and get to know the Pedway. Then we’ll hop outside by taking the super secret way to Millennium Park.
Chicago highlights we’ll see:
- The Bean – real name, Cloud Gate!
- The Pritzker Pavilion designed by Frank Gehry and the cool snake-like BP Bridge.
- Maggie Daley Park, a truly trippy and awesome kids park.
From there I’ll tell you the saddest story ever (I know, but it’s a great story) and we’ll end the tour near the gift shop of the Art Institute. This is a lovely tour, a quirky tour and most importantly, an informative tour. We cover a lot of ground (above and below!) and we see a lot of the city! Come see Chicago inside and out!

What to Expect:
It might be cold, rainy, hot, or all of these things when we’re outside, so prepare for the weather. Then we’ll be pretty warm (and cool and nice in the summer) once we get into the Pedway, so it’ll be a bit up and down. Also, the Pedway is filled with revolving doors, escalators and ups and downs. We’ll walk about 1.5 miles on this tour, but it’s a casual pace.
